It wasn’t until my four daughters were older that I decided to finally pursue real estate full-time.” CW: How do you find your passion? “Real estate is an emotional business. There is nothing more passionate to me than witnessing the joy homeowners experience when closing on their new home. Knowing I played a small part in their happiness is fulfilling.” CW: What habits do you implement in dayto-day life that you attribute to success? “As a former Division I basketball player, I learned the value of organization and structure. I have created daily habits that provide structure and keep me organized in real estate.” CW: What things do you find difficult? “There is a very limited supply of homes for sale in today’s market. Most homeowners are unaware of how prepared they need to be when house hunting. It can be difficult convincing the traditional homebuyer that ‘window shopping’ in real estate does not exist in this current market. Knowing what you want and moving fast will get you the best deal and oftentimes avoid a ‘multiple offers’ situation.” CW: Tell us about how you grew up and what or who shaped you into the woman you are today. “I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia with a fun loving and athletic family. My parents and coaches along the way have definitely shaped me into who I am today. I am grateful for my parents’ love and support growing up and for the coaches that taught me life lessons.” CW: Tell us about your family. “I’ve been married to Jeremy Blackstock, owner of Lowcountry Contractors, for 23 years. We have lived in Mount Pleasant for most of our adult lives and have four beautiful and athletic daughters. Kendra is in medical school and a former four-time all-American lacrosse player; Skylar is a senior basketball player at Clemson University; Alexandra is a Wando High School volleyball player; and Langdon is a Cario volleyball player.” CW: Give us some success tips for someone just starting out in your line of work. “There aren’t any dumb questions. Don’t be afraid or too proud to ask questions. You don’t know what you don’t know. Find a mentor. Having a mentor shortens the learning curve drastically and will make you a successful Realtor a lot faster. I love helping new Realtors get started in real estate.” Patti Blackstock Keller Williams 1204 Palm Blvd., Ste.
