DeMoura, who put the final price tag at $29 million, $5 million less than expected, said the town would be able to move the excess to other important projects, including improvements on the track, lighting and new gymnasium on the Town Hall campus. “Town Council took feedback from the community that this building should reflect Mount Pleasant – who we are, our values, our history, our culture and our natural amenities,” said Mount Pleasant native Lauren Sims, the town’s executive programs manager who, along with DeMoura, co-managed the construction of the building.
