But sometimes it’s difficult to know exactly what course of action to take to lose and keep off weight and develop a lasting, healthy lifestyle. That’s where Profile by Sanford comes in. Here, a staff of certified coaches provide members with a plan tailored to their individual needs. The five coaches at the Mount Pleasant location, which opened in November of 2018, are specially trained to identify emotional triggers, help manage stress and teach members about proper nutrition. The three core principles of Profile by Sanford are nutrition (providing a personalized meal plan that includes nutrient-rich “profile” food along with healthy groceries); activity (encouraging additional activity into a member’s day-to-day life) and lifestyle (helping members develop healthy habits and overcome stress). “What sets us apart is our coaching element,” said Dyan Kohrmann, manager and coach. She said Profile by Sanford has 80 locations nationally, with four planned for the Lowcountry. “New members come in for a consultation during which we determine their lifestyle, their background and then develop a meal plan for them. We encourage weekly coaching to help our members make lasting lifestyle changes which result in sustainable weight loss.” Members pay just $300 for a year of one-on-one health coaching, and they are also provided a multipurpose scale to monitor and measure their success. Also, for a separate fee, Sanford’s “profile” foods are available. “Our health coaches are here to help support our members make better decisions regarding their food choices,” said Kohrmann.
