BEST VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy serves first responders and survivors of traumatic loss. Volunteers are vital to the Chaplaincy’s mission. They undergo intensive vetting and training to equip them to serve the community by bringing comfort and counsel to those who need it most. Shem Creek Boat Landing is, once again, the most popular place to launch kayaks, paddleboards and other small watercraft. The facility recently underwent a refresh, including repaving the parking lot, new stormwater structures, upgraded storm drain lines and improved accessibility.
