The most wonderful and busiest time of year has passed and if you’re reading this then that means you too have survived and perhaps thrived through the gauntlet of the holidays. Let’s pause, catch our breath and reflect on this issue before journeying into the new year! Speaking of the unknown, I could have never fathomed what it takes to orchestrate and execute such a dauntingly comprehensive issue as our annual Best of Mount Pleasant edition. I’ve personally never published anything quite like this in my life as an editor. This issue is a true unicorn and that’s what makes it unique, incomparable and therefore truly special. First off, congratulations to all the respective businesses, services and individuals who received praise and accolades within these pages and rightfully so. It’s plain and simple: the people voted, and your expertise spoke for itself. Each of our winners are the best in their profession and that is not something to be taken lightly. Our Best Of awards are a badge of honor, wear it with pride! In retrospect, after the ink dried on this issue, my takeaway is that no matter the task it takes a village. There’s no ‘I’ in team and there certainly isn’t in Best Of. I want to personally thank our writers, copyeditors and graphic designers who painstakingly produced this beast of an issue. This issue exemplifies the teamwork, camaraderie and sweat equity it takes to be the best of the best.
