Senior Avah Mallek ended her career as a third straight individual state champion and together, both squads sported these 10 All-State runners: seniors Brian Stambaugh, Keziah Varner, Trent Manning and Mallek; junior Flynn Taylor; sophomores Laura Perry and Matthew Perry, Grady Castiglia and Griffin Tollison; and seventh grader Stella Wininger. “Entering the season as defending state champions always adds a level of pressure and expectation, but these athletes did not disappoint,” Michael said. “Both teams taking home the championship again this year was an absolute perfect ending.” BISHOP ENGLAND BOYS AND GIRLS SWIMMING Leave it to the Bishop England swimmers to wait until colder weather to score a historic season, with both the boys and girls teams winning the school’s first dual swimming titles.
