PETS 9 C O V E R One of our missions at Mount Pleasant Pets is to raise money for homeless pets who await adoption. We are al- ways on the lookout for how to help when national disas- ters effect our four-legged friends as well. When Hurricanes Florence and Harvey hit, Mount Pleasant Pets was proud to donate to affected SPCAs. Locally, we are working toward helping all SPCAs for the good of our furry friends. Our front cover is one example of how Mount Pleasant Pets is raising money to promote “adopt-don’t-shop” awareness and assisting local shelters. For the past two years, we’ve given Pet Helpers the front cover of Mount Pleasant Pets to auction off at the Fur Ball. All proceeds go to Pet Helpers. This year’s cover features Larry and Pam Haskell. They are rock stars when it comes to their generosity and support to Pet Helpers. Mount Pleasant Pets is humbled to assist Pet Helpers and other local SPCAs. We are honored that the extremely talented pet photographer Jeanne Taylor captured such an awesome photograph of the Haskells with their rescues. My time with the Haskells was brief but enlightening. It re- minded me that there are wonderful people in this world and the dogs who come to know them are fortunate and blessed.
