This year’s Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Expo, presented by Crews Subaru, is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Omar Shrine Convention Center at 176 Patriots Point Blvd. As has been the case since the Expo was first launched in 2011, attendees and vendors will be able to mix business with fun, food and entertainment. The Expo will get underway at 1 p.m. The happy hour, beginning at 5 p.m., will feature live entertainment and the opportunity to purchase wine and beer. The booths will remain open until 7 p.m. so attendees can continue to talk business with approximately 90 vendors from across the Lowcountry. In the past, the Expo has drawn more than 1,500 visitors. “Our Expo is certainly the best-attended networking event in this area,” said Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce President Shane Griffin. “This year’s Expo is our ninth, and it continues to grow, evolve and get better every year.” The convention floor has been sold out every year since 2013, so, if you are interested in participating in the Expo as a vendor, you need to reserve your booth quickly. There are many reasons why you should consider buying a booth, according to Griffin. “First, this event gives you the opportunity to interact with a wide range of prospective new clients,” he pointed out. “Second, you can display your business products while also driving retail traffic and connecting to your local community.” He added that if you choose to take a more high- profile approach for your business, product or service, premier and community sponsorships also are available. “For consumers who visit the Mount Pleasant Business and Community Expo, this is a wonderful setting to talk with local businesses that see the importance and value in connecting with the local Mount Pleasant community,” Griffin said. The Mount Pleasant Chamber of Commerce, with more than 400 members, encourages business and community success East of the Cooper.
