He moved to Mount Pleasant from Los Angeles, where he had served as vice president, marketing for Playboy Enterprises, Inc. and chief media spokesman for its founder, Hugh M. Hefner. A regular contributor to Mount Pleasant Magazine and HealthLinks Charleston, he has written some 300 articles for these and other publications. A writer and lover of all things creative, Kalene McCort brings a fresh perspective to every medium she pursues. Having called Florida and Colorado home, she feels lucky to now reside on the Carolina coast. Anne Shuler Toole was born and raised in Mount Pleasant, where she now resides with her husband and two young children. She is the owner of Be Present Marketing and finds joy in writing about the people, places, culture, history and food that shape the Lowcountry. Alli Steinke is a freelance writer and social media manager based in Mount Pleasant. After serving in a 10-month volunteer program upon graduating fromWinthrop University, Alli returned to Charleston to begin her journalism career. Her experience is in newspaper publishing and online media.
