And it’s for a good reason — going back to school is a moving target, at best. All those late summer rituals, like shopping for school supplies and school clothes, will likely be replaced by online options. It’s possible our schooling will be, too. There is plenty of information out there about the plans that state and local school task forces are putting together. There is a national bank of ideas to pull from, shaped by local parameters. Every option is being explored and examined. It’s all fluid. For parents, March 15 marked the beginning of the end. Work schedules shifted to accommodate young ones at home, punctuated by helping them with their schoolwork whenever you could and if they were willing. The stars didn’t always align, and the work didn’t always get done — for either of you. Then, the homestretch of summer came along just in time. But as of writing this, no one is really sure what comes next. You might not believe it, but you really couldn’t be in a better place to ride out COVID-19.
