I am not the only game in town, so the community’s support tells me my business practices are solid, my pricing is marketappropriate and affordable and people seem to enjoy my work. So, whether we have worked together through an outdoor or studio client session or perhaps you know me through my volunteer time with our local shelters or rescues over the years, I appreciate the honor. If you tell someone you are scheduling a photo session for your pet, you may get an eyebrow-raise or a quizzical look in response. But anyone who has ever had a session will tell you — go for it! You won’t want to miss the opportunity and then regret it down the road. People move mountains to capture photos of their infants because they know they will never be able to recreate that time in their child’s life. For me, the milestone is no different – the puppy or kitten phase only lasts a short time and adulthood creeps up on your pets faster than you can imagine. Our pets’ health can turn on a dime and you will have forever lost out on the chance to capture their soulful eyes or their sugar-sprinkled faces, or maybe you will only have cell phone selfies with them rather than beautiful moments captured that you can proudly display in your home. Also, if you are someone who isn’t comfortable being in photos, trust me when I tell you that pets make everything better. You may be surprised how differently you view yourself in photos when you see the love I do and just happen to have captured with my lens. Take the hour to create lasting memories with your pet. Time spent with our pets is never wasted. I look forward to seeing you out and about in the community with your pets. Pets are family. Photoshoots are for pets too BY JEANNE TAYLOR pets
