History shows us that skin care has long been valued across cultures. The first recorded use of skin care was in Ancient Egypt. In the 1800s, people started to incorporate zinc oxide into their skin routine. Products such as ChapStick and Vaseline were developed. Additionally, the use of oatmeal and honey was on the rise because it softens texture and can spot treat blemishes. In 1936, the first sunscreen was created, Ambre Solaire, which used benzyl salicylate, a UV-ray absorber.
