More than simply preparing students for college and careers, PCA partners with families to help students develop a strong foundation rooted in biblical truth while equipping them for success in every stage of life. One area where PCA shines is in preparing students for life after graduation. The school’s internship program for juniors and seniors has become a standout opportunity that gives students valuable real-world experience before they leave high school. Through a strong network of professionals within the PCA community, students have explored career paths in health care, veterinary medicine, event management, education, information technology and agriculture. This program reflects PCA’s dedication to preparing students for both academic and professional success, and while academic achievements are commended, one of PCA’s most meaningful traditions focuses on something deeper. The school’s annual Senior Walk has become a cherished event for students, families and faculty alike. Introduced in 2019 after school leaders saw a similar tradition elsewhere, the Senior Walk was designed as a way to involve the entire academy’s community in celebrating graduates. What began as a simple recognition ceremony has evolved into one of the school’s most anticipated traditions. During the walk, graduating seniors make their way through the halls as the younger students line the corridors, cheering them on and celebrating their accomplishments. For many faculty members, this event is especially emotional. JD Zubia, the headmaster, stated, “Some of these seniors have been here since PK2! For teachers who taught these students when they were in preschool or lower school, it is so rewarding to see the fruit of their work. This Senior Walk serves as a reminder of what the PCA experience is about – investing in lives and not merely teaching their subject matter.” For the graduates themselves, the experience is equally meaningful. Class of 2026 valedictorian Kyler Stille said, “After spending several years at PCA as the ‘younger student,’ it was surreal to finally be part of the senior class. Walking the halls amidst cheers from the students, many of whom I had the honor to get to know and mentor throughout high school, brought such a sense of pride and joy to see them so excited for our entire senior class.” Reflecting on his PCA experience, Stille recounted, “The most meaningful way PCA has shaped who I have become is by providing an education that included the thoughtful integration of biblical views, beliefs and values in the curriculum and standard of education. Not only learning the text, but putting into practice discernment, deciphering and determining what the world thinks is best versus what the Word of God says.” As each graduating class takes its final walk through the halls, the tradition serves as a celebration of academic achievements, God’s faithfulness and the lasting partnership between students, families and educators that defines the PCA journey.
