Whatever she needs.” He added, however, that if anyone at the Mount Pleasant Fire Department needs him for any reason, he’ll be available. “If someone requires help or just wants to vent, they can call me,” said Williams, adding that what he will miss most in retirement will be interacting with people. “My wife swears I’ll have a period of grief. The Fire Department is my family. We’ve been through deaths, births, marriages and divorces. It’s not just leaving a job. It’s leaving a family,” he said. “I’ll miss the people I run into every day, in the department, in town and at Town Hall,” he added. “I’m going to miss going into someone’s office and talking about not just the job but about life.” “If I had to do it all over, I would do it again,” he concluded. “No one ever told me what I had to do.
