They have recently established an IT department to provide connectivity and interactive technical support. Saulisbury Business Machines is celebrating a significant milestone of 55 years in the industry. The company was founded in 1968 by Lyles and Mae Saulisbury, specializing in the sales and service of typewriters and adding machines. The original location was a small shop on Reynolds Avenue in North Charleston. In 1983, their son and only child, Dale, joined the company full-time after graduating from Clemson. Dale had been involved in various aspects of the business since middle school, including working in the warehouse, delivering supplies, servicing equipment and eventually discovering his passion for sales and operations. Dale embraces technological advancements in the industry, allowing his organization to excel and meet the evolving needs of customer relations. Dedication and commitment to customer satisfaction are paramount, with Dale firmly believing and instilling these values as the company expands and progresses. Providing excellent customer service is their number one priority. In 1994, Dale’s wife Pam joined the company to automate accounting and manage the office. Dale assumed the role of company president in 1995 and since then the company has expanded to include offices in Myrtle Beach, Beaufort and the Barnwell-Bamberg areas. They now have a payroll of 30 employees. The dedicated staff is committed to providing each customer with state-of-the-art products and services. The company places a strong emphasis on continuing education and training in sales and service for their equipment lines. In 1988, the company introduced copiers and fax machines to their product line. Today, they represent renowned manufacturers such as Ricoh, Kyocera and Canon. Their warehouse stocks a comprehensive inventory of supplies and parts for all models. They also prides themselves on offering a four-hour turnaround time for numerous service calls. Their extensive product lines encompass multifunction printers and copiers, ranging from small desktop models to full-size models capable of printing 115 pages per minute.
