KIM RUSSO On Brand Designs When Kim Russo was looking to move south five years ago, she not only sought out a warmer climate, but a place to break free from the hectic New York City work life. So, after several attempts across three states in one year, Russo moved herself and her company On Brand Designs to Mount Pleasant in 2020 for a fresh start. “I specialize in brand strategy, VIP days, logo and packaging design and web design,” said Russo, who spent 17 years honing her talent in the packaging/branding trenches in NYC. “I wanted the freedom to create a work environment that is balanced, casual and fun.” Serving a diverse clientele from health and wellness to lifestyle coaches and offering products ranging from beauty to food and beverages, Russo said coming to Mount Pleasant is the best move she’s ever made. “Being here has not only facilitated the expansion of my business,” said Russo, “but also allowed me to craft the life I envisioned – filled with boat rides and beach days.” ALEX THOMPSON Wild Bliss Skin & Beauty The next time you’re going to be in or near the Dorchester building on Ben Sawyer Boulevard, make an appointment to see Alex Thompson, owner of the brand-new Wild Bliss Skin & Beauty. Thompson is a one-woman show, providing luxury facials, lash and brow enhancements and facial waxing, customized and curated to accommodate individual client requests. “From a young age, I was always doing makeup and hair for all of my friends and family,” said Thompson, a native of Mount Pleasant. “And I found that I love making people feel special.” Owning her own salon, however, was a dream Thompson had to put on hold for 17 years to take care of her family. But when the opportunity arose in late 2023, she was ready to“take the leap.” “I went back to school to pursue a career in esthetics,”Thompson said. “And I have been so blessed to see Wild Bliss come to fruition.” DENISE KISH Mount Pleasant Gardens Denise Kish likes Mount Pleasant for many of the same reasons as any other resident: warm weather, beaches and food. But having lived in the area for eight years now, Kish likes it for another reason as well: people’s kindness. “I’m a transplant from New Jersey,” said Kish, who arrived in the Lowcountry in 2016. “And people are much kinder here.” If you get to know her, you might come to think of Kish as the best neighbor you never see because since 2018, she has been taking care of seniors and their families at Mount Pleasant Gardens Memory Care Community. “Many who work with us tell me there is so much joy here,” said Kish, who serves as the community’s executive director. “We want you to feel love and kindness as soon as you arrive and it’s evident as you walk through our doors.” Our East Cooper Neighbors www.TopTenHomesSold.com | www.CarolinaRealEstatePodcast.com | www.MountPleasant.Pet
