FRAZIER Spring Cleaning Tips for a squeaky-clean home Spring is in the air, and you know what that means. It’s time to focus on cleaning and sprucing up your home. So, let’s roll up those sleeves and get started. Cleaning one’s home can be a bit overwhelming, and sometimes it’s hard to even know where to start. But with a checklist and some organization, your house will be ready for that first spring soiree in no time. EXTERIOR The exterior of your property offers the first impression for any guest invited to your home. Antonio White, owner of Tillman Constructors, is a custom home builder for residential communities and has been in the construction industry for more than 20 years. He encouraged homeowners to have their roof and gutter inspected to ensure debris is cleaned up and removed. Having your roof free of debris will prevent water from backing up into the structure, causing leaks, rotting or eventually damaging the interior of your home. “I recommend homeowners get a true, licensed professional when checking and handling the roof,” White said. “Check your screens and windows. During a wet winter, mold, cracks and damages could have emerged.” As you inspect the house’s exterior, the lawn and landscaping follow next on the checklist. Edging, cutting the grass, picking up leaves, planting seasonal flowers and plants in your garden, weeding and hedge trimming will need to be restarted. And don’t forget, it’s recommended for homeowners to pressure wash their homes every six months, especially if the home is a lighter color. INTERIOR As you progress to your home’s interior, walk around the house and make a punch list of what needs to be done. Whether it requires major fixes or minor touch-ups, every home needs a little TLC (tender loving care). beautiful homes Antonio White, owner of Tillman Constructors. www.CarolinaRealEstatePodcast.com | www.TopTenHomesSold.com | www.readMPM.com
