The tournament traditionally welcomes more than 90,000 spectators each year and features a singles draw of 48 players, a qualifying draw of 24 players and a doubles draw of 16 players. This year’s event showcases some of the top-ranked professional players on the WTA tour including Ons Jabeur, Jessica Pegula and Maria Sakkari. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mount Pleasant Farmers Market Opening Day WHEN: April 2 3:30-7 p.m. WHERE: Moultrie Middle School Mark your calendars for the opening of the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market. The weekly market, founded in 1998, features vendors selling local farm-fresh produce, meats, sauces, baked goods and other specialty foods, as well as prepared food vendors for those looking for a unique meal. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking available. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Lowcountry Strawberry Festival WHEN: April 5-7, April 12-14 WHERE: Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens The Lowcountry Strawberry Festival includes two big weekends filled with entertainment, activities, rides and food, and fields full of fresh, ripe strawberries! Featuring festival rides, a petting zoo, live music, a strawberry pie eating contest and more, it’s an exciting event the whole family will enjoy. The finish line will feature a Finish Festival with entertainment, vendors, food, souvenirs and refreshments.
