He career has encompassed running an automotive repair shop, serving as development director for a private school and writing. She has lived the transition from small town to a large and bustling community and enjoys writing articles from that perspective. Barbara Millen Patrick is a freelance writer and business owner living in Mount Pleasant. Formerly a producer with WCIV, she now operates Elope to Charleston. When she’s not working, Barbara enjoys reading, movies and baking delicious treats. Colin McCandless is a Charleston-based freelance writer and editor who enjoys writing about interesting people and places. He was born and raised in Mount Pleasant and returned home to the Lowcountry five years ago after living 14 years in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Samantha Connors is a freelance writer whose work focuses on food, drink and travel. A former magazine editor, Samantha now regularly contributes to local and national publications, including Edible Charleston and Culture Trip.com . When she’s not writing or traveling the country, Samantha can be found cuddling her two cats with a good book in hand. Mike Gibbons and his family have lived in Mount Pleasant since 2014. A native of Aiken, he and his wife are both graduates of the University of Alabama. He has been a writer since the mid ’90s, when he started his journalism career at the Aiken Standard.
