69 www.MountPleasantMagazine.com | www.ILoveMountPleasant.com | www.BestOfMP.com feature Gary Moses Rachel Jones – Nominator Relationship – Stepfather and stepdaughter Awendaw Words that describe Gary: devoted, caring, supportive, protective, loving When I think of a great father, I automatically think about my stepdad, Gary. He has been there for me and shown me nothing but unconditional love and support for the past 10 years, since he and my mom have been married. He is one of the strongest and most loyal men I know. He is an Army Desert Storm veteran. I am so proud to tell people that if it wasn’t for people like him, we would not have our freedom in this country. He is also a Mason and a Shriner. He is a devoted husband, father, grandpa and father-in-law. All of us in our family are so very lucky to have him in our lives. My two sons are especially lucky to have him as their grandpa. I know he will help teach them all the right things in life for them to grow up to be hardworking, respectful, fearless men. It takes a SPECIAL person to be a stepparent. I tell everyone that he is not my stepdad. He is my DAD. He chose to love me like I was his own daughter. He chose to be my father figure. He chose to be my dad. Words can’t describe how grateful and lucky I am to have him. I love you with all my heart!
