Backdropped by newly created light art installations and live music (performed each night by various bands), the event begins May 11 and continues Wednesdays and Saturdays until August 13. A variety of food and beverage options will be available throughout the gardens. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Party at the Point When: May 6 through July 8 on Friday evenings, 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Where: Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina Friday nights in early summer are packed with great music, food and family fun at Charleston’s only beach party! Buy tickets in advance or at the gate. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bronze and Steel: The Art of Marc Mellon and Babette Bloch When: May 7 through July 24, during normal daily operating hours Where: Brookgreen Gardens Marc Mellon is one of America’s foremost representational sculptors, well-known for his portrait busts, commemorative statues and works in bronze. Mellon is married to fellow sculptor Babette Bloch, a pioneer in the use of laser-cut and water jet-cut stainless steel. Bloch’s work can be seen in the stunning historic silhouettes along the Lowcountry Trail at Brookgreen Gardens. --------------------------------------------------------------------- North Charleston Arts Festival When: May 6 at 6:30 p.m. Where: East Montague Avenue The Yacht Club and musical group, South Carolina’s Smoothest Rock Band, adds grit and tempo to the 70s and 80s classics while keeping the melodies intact. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Spring Wine Festival in the Garden When: May 7, 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Where: Brookgreen Gardens Enjoy wine tastings and live music throughout Brookgreen Gardens at our second annual food and wine event. Additional tickets will be sold for wine tastings, raffle prizes and other activities. Wristbands include admission to the event and 10 tasting tickets.
