111 www.ReadMPM.com | www.MountPleasantMagazine.com | www.MountPleasantPodcast.com Fear of the unknown is the tendency for one to be afraid when they have no information about something they might face. As entrepreneurs, this fear grips so tightly, it keeps some from achieving dreams. However, that isn’t Rad Rydz owner Andrea Leary. “My philosophy is ‘why don’t we try it.’ The worst that can happen is being in the position we are in now or not moving forward. You must try. You must put yourself out there,” she said. Leary’s background was in advertising and radio marketing. Six years ago, she wasn’t thinking that she and her husband Chad would own a golf cart business in 2024. However, the duo that loved owning, repairing and driving golf carts as a hobby promoted that passion to a business of their own. “It’s fun doing this. I enjoy what I do, and the community loves it,” added Leary. “You must do what you love to do, and see how it turns out,” Leary relayed. She recommends that new entrepreneurs find a niche and stay with it — to look for things people haven’t thought of before. And that’s exactly what the determined Leary did. Rad Rydz is a golf cart repair shop, but Leary wanted to manufacture low speed vehicles. Her husband kept saying they would not be able to get their manufacturer’s license. However, that didn’t stop Andrea from trying; and now they have that license. At one point, Rad Rydz could not even find golf carts. Just like a lot of supplies during COVID, they were nowhere to be found. Therefore, Leary started cold calling golf courses — and she found some success. She scooped up golf carts and developed a database with leads and other golf cart business owners. “No matter what kind of business it is, always keep your ears open. You never know where you will get your answer. Just ask. You don’t know what the outcome will be. Don’t be scared to pull the trigger,” she encouraged. Rad Rydz is the go-to place for all golf cart needs. The knowledge and integrity Rad Rydz has is impeccable. They can repair, rebuild or sell customers the perfect golf cart. They are particularly excited about a new brand they just began brokering. “We have spent three years trying to find and build a partnership with a new fleet. We were able to find Atlas, owned by three guys with over 100 years of golf cart experience. Atlas is owned by the manufacturers MODZ,” Leary explained. Rad Rydz stands behind these vehicles and is happy to start carrying them. MODZ is a manufacturer of parts for Atlas. The parts are made in Texas and South Carolina, and the car itself is made in South Carolina. They still sell refurbished carts of any brand. If you want to take a ride and test out the Atlas fleet, then come to Rad Rydz. With Andrea and Chad in the driver's seat, you're in the best hands.
