Our Mount Pleasant Neighbors f c tim Megan Kirby Lives in: Daniel Island, South Carolina. From: Westchester, New York. Education: Vanderbilt University/GWU Nursing School. Employment: Full-time mom/nurse. Interests/hobbies: Chasing around and taking orders from my tiny 1-year-old girl boss, FIT4MOM Charleston, exploring the Charleston restaurant and brewery scene, traveling and discovering new recipes my husband can cook.  Your favorite Thanksgiving dish: All the sides! Mashed potatoes are my number one! Your favorite way to spend the holiday season/favorite memory: Surrounded by family and good food. We play white elephant with my family, and the gifts are always entertaining and get a good laugh (like Poo-Pourri) or start a fierce game of trades, like the year of the dry shampoo. Favorite quote or philosophy:  “She believed she could, so she did.” – R.S. Grey Elizabeth McCarthy-Martin Lives in: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. From: Nashville, Tennessee Education: Juris doctorate, Vanderbilt University Law School, Nashville, Tennessee; bachelor of science in business administration, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. Employment: Founder/owner at Pretty Little Pie Company, LLC in Manchester, New Hampshire from February 2016 to present. Interests/hobbies: Baking was my biggest interest and hobby for over a decade before I made it into a career by opening Pretty Little Pie Company. Now my interests include going out to eat with my husband, walking on the beach, home decorating and (very) amateur yoga. Your favorite Thanksgiving dish: Mashed potatoes. And pumpkin bread. I can’t pick which is better. They’re both so simple and so amazing. Your favorite way to spend the holiday season/favorite memory: I love decorating our home for the holidays, making it super cozy and planning elaborate holiday menus with my husband, Patrick. He is a spectacular cook and owns a specialty food company, so he typically takes on the savory holiday dishes, while I do the sweet breakfast items and desserts. Favorite quote or philosophy: Mostly, I just try to live every day in a way that is welcoming and respectful of others. One of my biggest joys is connecting with the people around me in a way that makes them feel valued. Katherine “Kathy”DuBeau Landing Lives in: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. From: New Orleans. Interests/hobbies: Sailing, running, skiing, music (piano, organ, flute) and reading. Your favorite Thanksgiving dish: Turkey (although sweet potato casserole with a pecan/coconut topping is a close second!). Your favorite way to spend the holiday season/favorite memory: Gathering with as many family and friends as possible, which is why we host Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday so lots of people can travel to join us and be together. Favorite quote or philosophy: My favorite quote is, “All knowledge is relevant,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson. My philosophy is to try to live life so that I will have no regrets and to follow the Golden Rule. Wells Grimball Lives in: Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. From: Greenville, South Carolina.
