With the crisp autumn weather upon us, it’s as if Mother Nature herself is encouraging a visit to this delicious neighborhood bake shop in I’On. Bakies’ band of merry elves are ready for the holiday season. Thanksgiving is in a few weeks and Christmas is less than six weeks away; do you have all of your baked goods ready? “We are expecting to have another busy holiday season,” said Gail Holdcraft, Bakies proud owner. “We are accepting Thanksgiving orders until Nov. 20 and Christmas orders until Dec. 20. Don’t forget to visit Bakies for all your holiday sweets.” Bakies is rolling out the goodies for everyone this season. Featuring pies, cakes, tiramisu, breads, rolls, sweet treats and of course, their famous iced almond shortbread cookies – all of which can be made gluten free! Bakies even offers DIY cookie decoration boxes! Holdcraft is looking forward to 2024 as Bakies will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. “Ten years…I can’t believe it. We are so grateful for the town and all our customers supporting us for this long. It means the world to me. I love this community and I love baking,” said Holdcraft. Holdcraft smiles as she shares her history. She is also excited for the Giving Lights Night in I’on. “Everyone lines their yards with luminary bags and turns on their Christmas lights – it’s like being in a Currier and Ives postcard,” said Holdcraft. Listen up dear community, try out Bakies in I’On this holiday season to make everything right. BY MAURICE J. FRAZIER local commerce For more information, please visit, or call 843-881-2364.
