Our East Cooper Neighbors facetime KATIE EVITTS Job or if retired or stay-at-home: Nanny How did you spend your summer? “I spent my summer enjoying the beach on Sullivan’s Island, paddleboarding the creeks, spending time at the pool with friends and visiting family in Michigan and Maryland.” What are you looking forward to this fall? “I am looking forward to bonfires and oyster roasts in the fall.” What do you love most about living in East Cooper? “There are always new places to explore and new friends to make while on an adventure. My favorite friends to make are the four-legged, furry friends.” Anything else (short) you want to tell our readers? “Spread some kindness and try to make a stranger smile today!” ROGER GAITHER Job or if retired or stay-at-home: Owner, Island Media Productions How did you spend your summer? “Much of it was spent with family. Since I live at the beach on the lovely Isle of Palms, they love to come visit. I have a daughter, Tonya; son- in-law, Guy; and granddaughters – Macy (age 19) and Marleigh (age 9). I am blessed!” What are you looking forward to this fall? “I am from Alabama originally, although I have lived most of the last 36 years on either Sullivan’s Island or the Isle of Palms. I am a huge Alabama Crimson Tide fan, so I am looking forward to watching them‘roll.’ I also love the awesome weather we enjoy on IOP.” What do you love most about living in East Cooper? “I love the weather — yes, even with those lazy, hazy, hot and humid days of summer — the ‘big pond’ just a stone’s throw from my house and the people. No friendlier place to live, in my opinion.” BLAIR HAHN Job or if retired or stay-at-home: Retired trial lawyer/commercial Realtor/co-owner for Yoga Daily in Seaside Farms How did you spend your summer? “Sailing off the beach on the Isle of Palms, doing yoga and preparing to run for the Isle of Palms City Council.” What are you looking forward to this fall? “The IOP City Council elections! 2020 and 2021 have been difficult years for everyone. I look forward to getting back to normalcy and becoming part of the solution to the issues that face the Isle of Palms.” What do you love most about living East of the Cooper? “I moved here almost 40 years ago. Through it all we have continued to welcome newcomers and flourish in the diversity of what our area has to offer and the people that live here. I love the sense of family and community.”
