120 www.ReadMPM.com | www.MountPleasantMagazine.com | www.MountPleasantPodcast.com This fall, neighbors east of the Cooper are excited to share what they love most about living in Mount Pleasant this time of year. The answers are, not surprisingly, unanimous. KAREN ARONSON Manager of The Boutique Charleston Karen Aronson said, “Mount Pleasant offers a true sense of community with friendly, welcoming people. We have excellent public schools, churches and a wide variety of extracurricular activities. We enjoy the fact that downtown and the surrounding areas are easily accessible with so much to offer.” “The best part of fall in the Lowcountry is the weather. October is the best time to visit Charleston because of milder temperatures, less crowds and an abundance of outdoor activities.” “We have two young girls, so we love the Boone Hall Plantation special events. It’s the definition of wholesome family fun. I know it will be a core memory that they will remember forever. The hay ride is a highlight for all ages and not to be missed.” JENNIFER EMPLIT Owner of Eucalyptus Wellness & Tend Supplements Jennifer Emplit added, “I love that Mount Pleasant is the perfect blend of small-town comfort and history mixed with up-and-coming modern living.” “The best thing about fall in Mount Pleasant is that you still get to enjoy the water and lay out on the beach at the same time that everyone is setting up fall decorations. It’s like a hybrid season that only we get to experience.” “I love going to the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch and also checking out the Fall Festival at Towne Center. For Halloween, the crazy decorations in Old Village are always the best.” ELIZABETH HUTCHINSON Owner/Founder of Hibiscus House LLC Elizabeth Hutchinson said, “We love how convenient everything is. The beaches are just minutes away and we can be downtown in no time. Mount Pleasant itself is incredibly well-maintained, clean and thoughtfully planned. What really sets the town apart, though, are the beautiful and natural surroundings. From scenic marsh views and outdoor parks to the miles of walking trails and abundant boat landings, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the outdoors. It’s been the perfect place to start our young family, with a strong sense of community, top-rated public schools and a feeling of safety that gives us peace of mind.” She concluded, “There’s just something so sweet about autumn here: cooler air, festive traditions and that small-town charm that makes everything feel extra special.” Our East Cooper Neighbors BY SARAH ROSE To recommend an interesting neighbor in our community, contact Editor@MountPleasantMagazine.com.
