It is about understanding a community, building relationships and delivering a level of service that earns trust long after the closing table. As owner and brokerin-charge of Crown Coast Properties, Amy has grown from selling a handful of beach homes into one of the Charleston area’s most consistently productive real estate professionals. She ranks among the top 1% of Charleston-area realtors and has been the No. 1 agent on Isle of Palms in total sales volume for the past 10 years. THE PATH TO THAT SUCCESS BEGAN LONG BEFORE REAL ESTATE. A North Carolina native, Amy grew up on a dairy farm and was the first in her family to attend college. She graduated with honors from Wake Forest University with a degree in business while playing on the university’s women’s basketball team from 1984 to 1988. Amy credits those years with helping develop the discipline, work ethic and competitive drive she would later bring to her real estate career. Her connection to the Lowcountry stretches back more than two decades. After living and working in Charleston at different points over the years, she and her husband, Tommy, made Isle of Palms their permanent home in 2015. They launched what was then IOP Residential Real Estate with a relatively modest idea: Amy would sell a few beach houses while they enjoyed life on the coast. THE BUSINESS HAD OTHER PLANS. As her client base and sales grew, so did the geographic reach of the firm. What began primarily on Isle of Palms expanded to Sullivan’s Island, Mount Pleasant and downtown Charleston. In 2025, the couple rebranded the company as Crown Coast Properties, creating a name that better represented a business stretching “From King Street to the Coast.” Despite that growth, Amy has deliberately kept Crown Coast a boutique brokerage. Her approach remains personal and hands-on, combining detailed market knowledge with careful preparation, strong negotiation and the accessibility clients value when making significant real estate decisions. As a female business owner, Amy is also proud of the culture she has built at Crown Coast. She believes success in real estate comes from collaboration rather than competition and has created an environment where agents support one another, share knowledge and remain focused on exceptional client service. For Amy, leadership isn’t about building the biggest brokerage but surrounding herself with talented professionals who share that commitment. In 2024, Amy reached another career milestone when she was invited to join REALM, an invitation-only global real estate collective of accomplished luxury real estate professionals. Today, her business reaches from luxury coastal properties to homes throughout Mount Pleasant and downtown Charleston. Yet her philosophy remains remarkably close to where she started: know the market, work hard, take care of the client and let the results follow. That formula has transformed a simple plan to “sell a few beach homes” into a thriving Lowcountry real estate career and a boutique brokerage with a growing presence across Charleston.
