es sellew, branch
manager at Mortgage
Network, Inc. in Mount
Pleasant, employs a tried-
and-true formula for
doing business.
“I treat everyone
equally and always make certain I establish the correct
expectations. When interviewing
a client, I take into account not
only what their needs are right now
but also what they could be in the
future,” he explained. “Once I have a
grasp on their needs, I can effectively
formulate a mortgage plan that is
custom suited to their requests and
lifestyle.”
He also stays in touch with each
client, calling to schedule an annual
mortgage review or just to say hello
and ask about their family.
“For me, each of my clients is not
just another job to be completed and
then forgotten,” he said.
It is no wonder that Sellew’s
business was chosen by readers of
Mount Pleasant Magazine
as the best
place to obtain a mortgage.
“To me, ‘Best Of ’ means someone
who is selected for an honor due to
the unique and exemplary methods
they employ to offer only the best of
everything to the people who are in need of assistance,” he
commented. “As this town is my home, it is a tremendous
reward to know that the work we are doing here is so
greatly appreciated by so many of my neighbors.”
Sellew began working for the Hilton Head branch
of the Mortgage Network during the final semester of
his senior year at Wofford College. In the brief time
he was there, he gained insight into the mortgage
industry and realized he had found his vocation. After
graduation, he was offered a position at the company’s
headquarters. During the six months he spent in Boston,

his understanding of the intricacies of the mortgage world
were greatly enhanced. He gained experience and insight,
in turn becoming more efficient in his job.
Sellew left Boston to became a mortgage banker in
Hilton Head, where he remained for the next three years.
He moved to Mount Pleasant to manage the Mortgage
Network office in 2005.
“In the 10 years I have lived and worked in Mount
Pleasant, I have been privileged to meet and assist many
wonderful people. That has been my desire since that first
position I held while in college, and I
look forward to seeing this continue
for many years,” he remarked.
Sellew believes communication is
key in his line of work.
“The amount of parties involved
in one transaction, all of whom
depend on my services, can seem
overwhelming. The only way to
make certain a transaction flows
smoothly and without complication
is to keep everyone involved
and updated on the status of the
transaction so we are all on the same
page. I still find myself learning
something new every day. This
always reminds me to be better,
so that I can provide my absolute
best for those looking to me for
guidance.”
Sellew said Mount Pleasant is a
great place to work and live and has
one of the strongest real estate markets in the area.
“Most importantly, my job allows me to meet my
new neighbors on a daily basis. I believe it will always be
a wonderful place to live and work because of the great
culture we have – the history, dining, beaches and schools.
All of it comes together to form a diverse place that I love
to call home,” he said.
