It was built in the 1920s. I believe it opened as Darby Brothers Garage. Since then, it has gone through a number of owners until James “Zip” and Darlene Zimmerman bought it in 1983. We lost Zip in August of this year. We miss him very much. Zip started out with himself and one mechanic. As Mount Pleasant has grown, so have we. Our staff now has four mechanics on board. What is your most popular service? Being a repair shop, there is really only one main problem — more than likely, the most common breakdown is that the car won’t start.
