This is their chance to give their favorite businesses and community figures that big pat on the back that they deserve. We extend an enormous thank you to our readers who cast 47,000 votes this year and nearly half a million votes since the first Best Of issue. Your voice gives our local leaders the word-ofmouth endorsements that matter so much. This year, winners were selected in six categories: Food & Drink, Shopping & Goods, Entertainment & Leisure, Health & Wellness, Personalities & Services and Pets. These categories feature winners from every corner of Mount Pleasant, and showcase representatives selected by the community that get us through everyday life. Without these chart toppers, where would we eat? Where would we take our cars in for a tune-up? Where would we send our kids to learn and play? This is more than a complimentary list. This is our way of life. That being said, there was one business name that kept showing up in our results. This business did not meet the requirements to compete in Mount Pleasant, as it is not located east of the Cooper. However, our readers were such fans that we found it appropriate to give them a shout-out. We’d like to extend a warm honorable mention to Dr. Beth Cook of Women’s Health Partners in Summerville for spilling across bridges and into the hearts of our community members. We applaud you. Back on our side of Charleston’s famed river, each firstplace winner is recognized with a small description. We’d like to thank our freelance writers Chesley Lanford, Denise K. James and L.C.
