My wonderful husband, Austin, went down to bring supplies to our aunt who had her house taken from her. As the family was sitting outside, (he) saw a dog running around the neighborhood and did not think anything of it at first because people were following shortly behind. The dog looked dazed and confused, so (he) asked the individuals walking if the dog running was theirs, and they said no. Immediately Austin, his dad and aunt got some food and water for the dog to get his attention. The dog ran straight to them and even jumped in the back of Austin’s truck, and, at that moment, Austin knew he was ours. A few hours later, I get a text from Austin telling me he ‘had a surprise’ for me and sent me a picture of the cutest pup there ever was. Ironically enough, I had mentioned to him before he left if he happened to see any stray dogs to pick them up and bring them home.
