PETS 15 F A V O R I T E Wilma Breed: Great Dane Human: Rachel Campbell “Nearly five years ago, my husband and I were dis- cussing the idea of getting another dog. We started just browsing PetFinder.com and came across Wilma’s photo. We weren’t quite ready to make a decision yet because we were about to go on vacation, so we planned to revisit the idea once we got back. Three days after returning, Wilma just so happened to come into Indigo Creek Pet Supplies with her foster mom, and it was too much of a coincidence to ignore. We adopted Wilma officially on Nov. 1, 2014, and it’s been a wild ride ever since. Wilma came from Waters Edge Great Dane Rescue where she had been an owner surrender. She began life being tied up in the backyard all the time and basically forgotten about and neglected to the point (that she) was heartworm positive and had chewed up her foot out of sheer boredom. … I’m so glad we brought Wilma into our family because she went from sad, scared and lonely to a dog-food connoisseur, treat expert and store mascot. She’s a well-traveled dog, too, as she and Jethro (little brother) have been on multiple camping/hiking trips.
