Here’s what our East Cooper neighbors love the most about our community and the advice they have for any visitors coming here this spring or that may be considering a move to our fair town. CARRIE ANNE DUBIS Realtor with Coldwell Bank Realty, co-owner of Wolfgang Lawn Care Over the past 15 years, Carrie Anne Dubis has lived in and loved the Lowcountry style. Time spent outdoors, whether fishing, exploring nature or simply enjoying the coastal beauty, can’t be beaten. The people of Mount Pleasant have always been welcoming, and she and her husband are proud to raise their two children in our vibrant community. Being a realtor in Mount Pleasant means introducing new residents to everything that makes our home unique. To Dubis, “Whether assisting with buying, selling or securing the perfect rental, I take pride in guiding people through each step of the process with care and dedication.” “Mount Pleasant offers a laid-back, coastal lifestyle. Residents enjoy easy access to beaches, waterfront parks, boating and fishing. Even so, hurricane season is something to prepare for, so be sure to have a full understanding of flood zones alongside proper insurance when purchasing a home.” ERIN SHULER Owner of Reputation Salon For Erin Shuler, her favorite part of Mount Pleasant is “How you can get a city feel, along with a beach feel with the palm trees, smell of pluff mud at low tide and salty air smell when the wind blows just right.” And who can forget the food. A variety of restaurants and new culinary concepts are always popping up. Towne Centre is another favorite with easy access to retail and dining. It’s also a great place to just sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. To those interested in making a move here, Shuler warned about the infrastructure. “It isn’t really where it needs to be. We have traffic, and a lot of it. It can take a while to get anywhere, especially when events are being held.” PATRICK MAHANEY Co-owner of Event Hub Patrick Mahaney’s favorite thing about Mount Pleasant is the beautiful views you’ll find around every corner. From historic venues to beachfronts, the Lowcountry has so much diversity everywhere you turn. That diversity isn’t just in the views either. There’s always something going on, whether it’s new restaurants, pickleball, sports like the RiverDogs or Stingrays games or concerts at the Credit One Stadium. You can find plenty of fun events to enjoy with friends or family. To anyone looking to visit, Mahaney put it simply: “Travel the state and take advantage of it.” South Carolina is such a diverse state with the Lowcountry’s beaches and the mountains in the Upstate. It’s almost like an entirely different place, and it would be a shame to miss out on something so beautiful.
