D

rs. Michael and Gina courson

met at the University of Georgia while

working on their undergraduate degrees.

Following a few unfulfilling attempts

working in other fields, they both decided to go back to

school after Gina’s grandfather, a personal injury attorney,

suggested the art of chiropractic.

Six years later, in 2000, the Coursons decided to move to

the Lowcountry. Now, 16 years and two offices later – still

going strong – Gina and Mike have built a strong reputation

in Mount Pleasant with Accurate Chiropractic.

“We both found that the philosophy behind chiropractic

really fit our thinking of health that we already had,” Gina

pointed out.

“Chiropractic is the science, philosophy and art of

detecting misalignments in the spine. These misalignments

can cause nerve impingement or pinched nerves. Sitting

too long at the computer, repetitive motions, weight lifting

and driving for prolonged periods can cause these pinched

nerves in our spines,” Mike continued.

“By adjusting these vertebrae back into normal motion,

we are encouraging these spinal joints to move better than

before and unpinch the nerves,” he added.

Accurate Chiropractic offers a variety of services,

including cold laser therapy, intersegmental traction,

detox/energy balance and massage therapy. The two Dr.

Coursons pride themselves on offering low impact ways

to adjust and tailoring the adjustment to the needs of each

patient. Speaking of patients, the list has grown significantly

– no surprise, since the office was voted one of the best

chiropractic practices in the area by the readers of

Mount

Pleasant Magazine.

“As Mount Pleasant grew, so did the need to have two

offices, one on each side of town. Now we are able to

accommodate patients from all over,” Gina pointed out.

“We are open six days a week, from early morning to late

evening, and see everyone from newborns to the elderly. We

love all people and do our best to keep them healthy, happy

and vibrant. It’s our passion,” she concluded.
