The Ragamuffin ChildRen’s
Boutique, locally owned and operated by
Windi McKeithan for the past 32 years and
really three shops in one, was chosen by the
readers of Mount Pleasant Magazine
as the best place to buy children’s
clothing.
“My dream since college was to have my own shop,
and, after studying fashion merchandising, along with
years of experience in retail and as a buyer, I bought The
Ragamuffin Children’s Boutique and Stride Rite Shoes,”
Windi explained. “I added Radical Rags for older kids
about a year later.”
“We are so honored as our customers mean so much
to us,” she added. “We have relationships with them, and
multiple generations of the same families come to us. We
love to work with them to find the right items for their
children from head to toe. We are known for offering the
most sought-after brands, including Southern to European
styles, casual to dressy and everything in between.”
“We strive to be the customer’s go-to store for any
occasion, from babies to tweens and from mothers to great-
grandmothers,” she went on to say. “We have everything
they may want under one roof. We know how to put clothes
together to create awesome family pictures, wedding parties
or whatever the occasion, along with a complete dance shop
for ballet, tap and jazz.”
With a daughter in medical school and a son at Clemson
University, Windi acknowledged, “Running a small business
is tough, but when you have a team of great co-workers and
wonderful customers, it makes it a lot of fun.”
