atherine Moorehead, one of
the owners of the Next To New furniture
consignment and home interiors shop, knows
her customers.
Having recently been named “Best Consignment
Furniture” by the readers of
Mount
Pleasant Magazine,
Catherine
acknowledged, “We have received recognition in the past
and always appreciate it. We value our customers and are
thrilled that they, in turn, value our efforts to showcase
their items to their greatest advantage.”
Most items come from customers who are moving,
downsizing or redecorating. The inventory at Next to New
includes home decor needs from furniture to china – just
about anything to furnish and decorate your home.
Catherine revealed, “Our customers tell us we have the
best prices and selection in town, and we strive to provide the
best customer service as well. We also enhance the experience
for our customers with staging, where we set up vignettes so
customers can imagine the items in their own home.”
Another marketing tool that Catherine believes
customers appreciate is the online service that is
available so that customers can track the progress
of their items. Consigned pieces will be kept for up
to three months, with the sales prices split 50/50.
Consignors are welcome to retrieve their unsold items
after the three-month period. Otherwise, the items are
donated to Habitat For Humanity.
Commenting on the success of the store, Catherine
stressed the importance of her staff: “It really ‘takes a
village’ to run Next To New. We have a wonderful group
of dedicated, talented women who make shopping and
consigning at Next to New a great experience.”
