W
hen Kevin Carlon, direCtor
of
external affairs at the Gaillard Center,
moved from Boston to RiverTowne in Mount
Pleasant last year to accept his current position,
he already had plenty of experience in the
entertainment field, mainly in sports and the
arts. And though he’d worked in “stadiums,
arenas and all kinds of places,” Carlon especially appreciates the remodeled
Gaillard for its impact on the entire community.
“This is a new building with a new mission,” he pointed out. “And we’ve put
together a new team to make it work.”
Of course, it’s not entirely new – the “old” Gaillard, which closed in
2012 and was a well-regarded institution in the Lowcountry, is still there in
frame – but it is completely renovated inside. More importantly, the updated
