Inspiring theWhole Child
CHRIST OUR KING STELLA MARIS SCHOOL
S
ince 1950, Christ Our King - Stella Maris School
has been providing an outstanding Catholic
education for students in pre-kindergarten through
eighth grade. Serving to educate students in the parishes of
Christ Our King, Stella Maris, St. Benedict’s and Saint Clare
of Assisi, the school’s mission is to
inspire the whole child by promoting
an educational philosophy that emphasizes charity, respect
and outreach. Through strong programs in academics,
fine arts, stewardship and athletics, students and staff are
challenged to explore their talents, equip themselves with
knowledge to help them succeed and lead active, faith-filled
lives as true disciples of Christ.
In addition to traditional math, English, social studies,
science and religion classes, highlighted by a top 10-percent
national ranking of the schools’ standardized test scores,
Christ Our King - Stella Maris School also offers courses
that enhance students’ lives, such as arts, music, choir,
physical education, technology, Spanish, internet research,
study skills and creative writing.
The school’s Catholic faith is an integral part of all
aspects of student life – from academics to the playground
to extracurricular activities, faith is a constant thread that
runs through daily experiences. Students begin and end
each day and class with a prayer, attend Mass and celebrate
special days honoring Mary in May and October. Weekly
“We Give Wednesday’s Collection” encourages stewardship
and teaches students lessons in time, talent and treasure.
Helping fulfill the mission to ‘inspire the whole child,”
there are over two dozen extracurricular activities, ranging
from music to athletics to clubs and activities which
students are encouraged to take part in.
Christ Our King - Stella Maris School has gained
recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School and an
International Baccalaureate World School and has earned an
outstanding reputation in the East Cooper community.
